Manzanares River

Many of you probably don't know, but Madrid as a river!... Yes!... A river!... It's name is Manzanares, it runs on the south part of the city, and is an affluent of the Jarama river that at it's time is an affluent of the more know Tagus river, the largest of Iberian peninsula, the one that pases throw some beautiful cities as Toledo or Lisbon.
At this moment the area around of the Manzanares river, is a big (long) "terrain vague" waiting for the "super" park that politicians have promised, before it was an high-way (called M-30, now its buried, a big tunnel 14 or 16 km long, even if you don't see it is there)...

en effet je ne savais pas que Madrid avait une rivière (mais les français sont nuls en géographie ;o) )
J'espère que vous aurez rapidement ce super parc, cela sera surement très beau. Tu m'as pas dit si tu avais vu le manège carré ?

in fact I did not know that Madrid was a river (but the French are no geography ;o))
I hope you'll quickly super park, it is surely very beautiful. You have not said if you had seen the carrousel square?

You know, I think this is the first picture you've posted that I can see and feel how Madrid truly is a teeming urban area. Awesome shot.

Looks like there's not that much water flowing through it even this time of year. Nice bird in the sky.
