Saturday reading...

La Dehesa de la villa is not an urban park but a forest absorbed by the city… with its 60 hectares, and 850 years of history is one of the biggest parks in Madrid… The neighbourhood is fighting for that the town hall doesn’t convert this beautiful stop in an urban park full of asphalt, street lamps, and all kind of stuff were public administration like to spend money… For now la Dehesa still keeps its charming, at the same time savage, but cared look… I’ll go back to read my newspaper now…

I hope they keep it the way it is. Too much urbanization is neat and tidy but all the character and history are gone.

I hope this beautiful and calm place is kept as is. It's an oasis in the concrete jangle.

Great ligating and composition, BTW.

Unfortunately, I'm on dialup at home this weekend, so the whole photo isn't loading, but what I see is beautiful. I hope they will keep the shop and its character.

I too hope this bit of wilderness survives the will of planners to "organise and tidy".

When Ben and I got married, we marched into the hall to the tune of "When I'm Sixty-Four". I LOVE this photo. I hope when I'm 64, I'll still be reading a weaving or home magazine, and he'll still be reading a car or gadget magazine, in the sun.

Mira la señora, leyendo la noticia sobre el padre de Bea la Fea, jaja. Es que es un señor muy majete.

Supongo que la foto del "señor pensante" la sacaste también en la Dehesa. Qué sensaciones tan distintas me despiertan ambas fotos...

La recorro a menudo en bici. Me encanta la calidez que le sacas.
